Welcome to Uchama (St Justin's) High School
Thank you for taking an interest in our school. Our website aims to answer some of your questions about the education we offer here at Uchama High School. If you would like more information, or to arrange to make an appointment to visit the school please use the Contact page to get in touch.
Uchama is an English-medium secondary school, situated 4 kilometres outside Nzega. With some 500 or so pupils, we are large enough to offer a broad curriculum but small enough for pupils to be known and cared-for as individuals. Our school was opened by the late Father of Nation, Mwl. Julius K. Nyerere in 1975 and belongs to the Catholic Archdiocese of Tabora. It is run and managed by The Brothers of Christian Instruction, also known as the De la Mennais Brothers, a teaching order founded by Father Jean-Marie de la Mennais in 1819. The Brothers of Christian Instruction, founded several schools in the country before our independence, such as St. Mary's Nsumba, Nyegezi- Mwanza and St. Thomas Moore Collage Bukoba. Today they have schools across Tanzania such as St. Anthony Secondary School, Mbagala in Dar es Salaam; Majengo Secondary School in Moshi, Pandahill Secondary School in Mbeya and many others. However, although we are part of this world-wide Catholic order, we welcome pupils from every background or faith.
Why not make an appointment to come and see our school community in action? You will then be able to see for yourself what a hard-working but enjoyable place this is.
Our Students

Our school is a safe, caring environment where pupils are expected to take personal responsibility for their own welfare from the outset, and to make an unselfish, friendly commitment to life in our school community. We expect high standards of behaviour and academic endeavour and achievement from all our students so that you can be assured that your son or daughter will be able to realise their full academic potential while at the same time becoming responsible, well-rounded citizens.

Our Teachers
A fully-qualified and caring staff is dedicated to providing a rich educational experience for all pupils, and in addition, staff will always be ready to see pupils individually to offer them extra help if needed.
Outside lessons there is a range of extra-curricular activity to promote mental and physical well-being. The School does well in sports and games.
We offer good basic accommodation for all pupils whose homes are too far for daily travel. The girls' hostel is run and guided by religious Sisters, thus giving our girls an opportunity to practice Christian ethics and morals.
